Running off to the country

After picking blueberries before the heat got to bad (man the rain was bad in the north of the county), I took back roads to a wildlife boat ramp on a black water swamp. Having seen that it was just a simple cut over, I assumed that the roads would all be paved. Well I found that not all the back county roads have been paved and was transported back twenty years to Maine and driving to camp. Ran into the grader who was working on the road after the heavy rains.

Being Friday, no one was around and I slipped the Swing into the swamp and set off just down to the bridge and back. Very nice and not as hot as the surrounding land. Lots of shade from the cypress and oaks. Just below the bridge there is a large paper wasp nest.
